Our group, Schole Outdoors, is a homeschooling community that employs the content of a classical curriculum and the pedagogy of restful learning embodied by the word scholé. The word scholé (pronounced skoh-LAY) comes from a Greek word that means “restful learning,” with the connotation of “contemplation,” “conversation,” and “reflection.” Our mission is to pursue deep engagement that results in enjoyable, permanent learning—that is, to bring scholé to our homeschool co-op.
We are part of the Scholé Groups network, which offers homeschool communities resources and support. We seek the pursuit of wisdom, the the discovery of delight, and growth together.
Focusing on the study of nature, we met about twice a month on Fridays to observe a seasonally appropriate topic, such as seeds, pumpkins, spring birds, and more. Whether your children are in public school, private school, or your homeschool, we welcome them to join us!
